Veal liver recipe

This simple Basque dish is incredibly tender and tasty and perfect with all those onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sliced onions
  • 6 calf livers
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • ΒΌ cup of canola oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp white flour
How to Make It
  1. Place the calk livers and milk in a bowl and let soak for 40 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet.
  3. Caramelized the onions on low heat for 30 minutes.
  4. Use a tong to remove the onions and drain on a paper towel.
  5. Shake any milk from the livers and dredge through the flour.
  6. Place the livers in the same skillet.
  7. Fry for 4 minutes on each side.
  8. Place on a platter and smother the livers with the caramelized onions.
