Ingredients
- 1 orange
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) apple juice
- 1 teaspoon (2.7 g) cornstarch (contains corn; can use tapioca or arrowroot starch instead)
- ½ cup (82 g) packed sulfite-free raisins
- 4 medium apples, chopped into almond-size pieces
- 3⁄4 cup (170 g) packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon (1.2 g) ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon (1 g) ground cloves
How to Make It
- Juice the orange and grate the peel. Stir together the apple juice and starch. Combine juice, peel, starch mixture, and remaining ingredients in a saucepan.
- Simmer orange until the apples are soft and the mixture has cooked down. Cool slightly and spoon mixture into pre-baked and cooled Hearty Tartlet shells.
