Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, chopped (⅓ cup)
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes with basil, undrained
- ½ cup vodka or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon coarse (kosher or sea) salt
- 0.12 teaspoon pepper
- ½ cup heavy whipping cream
How to Make It
- In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic in oil 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until crisp-tender.
- Stir in tomatoes, vodka, sugar, salt and pepper. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in whipping cream. Heat just until hot.
