If you have the kind of busy mornings, then stuffed apples are for you. They are easy to prepare with only a few steps required. The lemon and orange zests give the recipe a flavor to envy. Try out the stuffed apples and your mornings won’t be the same again.
Ingredients
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup dried figs
- 1 tsp coconut sugar
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- ½ tsp grated orange zest
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- ½ cup water
- 4 apples
How to Make It
- In a bowl, mix maple syrup with figs, coconut sugar, pecans, lemon zest, orange zest, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice and coconut oil, whisk really well and stuff apples with this mix.
- Add the water to your slow cooker, add ½ teaspoon cinnamon as well, stir, add apples inside, cook for 1½ hours on High while covered.
- Divide apples between plates and serve them for breakfast. Enjoy!
