Ingredients
For the Fries
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 3½ tablespoons canola oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt, plus more to taste
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
- ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
- 4 russet potatoes, unpeeled, scrubbed and dried
For the Fry Sauce
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- ½ teaspoon distilled white vinegar
- ⅛ teaspoon garlic salt
How to Make It
-
Make the Fries
- Preheat the oven to 450°F. Coat a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the oil, kosher salt, pepper, and garlic salt in a large zip-top bag. Shake until the ingredients are mixed together.
- Quarter the potatoes lengthwise and then cut the wedges into ¼-inch-thick French fries. Place the potatoes in the bag and shake until they are well covered with the oil and seasonings. Spread the potatoes in a single layer over the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes, then toss the fries with a spatula. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes more, or until golden and crisp. Make the Fry Sauce
- While the potatoes bake, in a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, and garlic salt. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Remove the fries from the oven and season with more salt and pepper, if desired. Enjoy them while they’re hot, dipped in the fry sauce!
